A good and relatively inexpensive solution would be carrying at least one well armed attack helicopter equipped with hellfire missiles and several machine guns on the deck of each tanker.

Or spray the suckers with a high pressure stream of oil from a giant nozzle

Hell, it wouldn't even take that many. An attack helo every fifth or tenth or even twentieth tanker would cover a lot of ocean. The 'where is the chopper today' factor alone would be beneficial.

Thank you kind sir.

Personally I believe an airborn F18 from a carrier can be on site in only minutes anywhere down there. If a few meet a fate such as can be delivered by a fighter the problem will stop. Just my opinion

I still like my original suggestion of a Predator. Part of the reason I like it is because it would remain "hidden" from view, and spew it's death from afar. When one of two of those pirate boats just explode and sink, for no apparent reason, well, that will give the fuckers a reason to think twice.

This link shows sort of the same thing, in a very adult graphic manner. It involves a Canadian sniper, sniping Taliban targets in Afghanistan. The view is through the lens of the spotter's scope. The spotter is the guy that passes targeting information to the shooter, such as range to target, wind drift, etc, etc. Anyway very graphic. making_a_good_taliban.wmv videos from friends & fun videos on webshots

To be honest when training horses or other animals you want the animal to believe that certain actions just cause pain or whatever you are using, when its humans you are dealing with, it serves no purpose to be secretive as to who or what caused it. You would want your targets to understand that certain actions have costs involved. Just my 2 cents

Well, if we're ever looking for someone to shove a cattle prod up their butts, you'll get the job. In the meantime, don't you think that these guys know that what they are doing is: 1) against the law; and 2) that there should be consequences? However, they also know that if they manage to take a ship, that the only consequences they will receive is a very large payday.

No, if a couple of their boats venture out looking for pray, but never return, I believe that they will get the message loud and clear.
