Post #192 quotes post #51 as a response to post...
I believe you have revealed to us one of the main reasons for the lack of substance in your posts. You are confused by numbers and the English language.
First, your number quoting is messed up. I will go through all the posts of post number 192, and post number 193, since you seem to have mixed them up and arrived at a quarter of a whole thought you then felt compelled to post. Post #192 dealt with "Arc Light" as a "solution" for addressing the Taliban. Post #193 dealt with your endorsement of the idea that Obama is veering to the political right, and losing support of those on the left, which was subsequently ridiculed by various squatters camping out on the right wing.
Here is post #47, the post that declared the path Obama has taken since being elected has veered to the right and is losing him support from the left:
He was elected to fulfill his campaign promises. So far The Big Zero has gained a great following from the right and found many adversaries on the left due to broken promises. Great politician (and I mean that sincerely). Tell 'em what they want to hear then do what you want! Big Dick Nixon would be proud.
I'm sure GW gave him an earful at their first meeting. I would have loved to see the expression on BO's face when reality set in. I'm sure the job is a lot different than most pols realize.
Here is post #51, that quoted post #47 and added the chorus of right wing comfort (uttering the name Clinton in a phrase with the connotation of bad - seems to give you guys hope) and the prediction of doom dealing with Arabs and Persians:
Clinton would be proud too.
He is one missile strike away from being dismissed as a hypocrite by the "Muslim community".
I believe mlfun, you added some bold lettering to the text he quoted, but made no effort to clarify that you did not support the perception Obama is veering to the right. In fact, the words you bolded "Tell 'em what they want to hear then do what you want! Big Dick Nixon would be proud
" seem to suggest you agree - Obama ran on an agenda right wingers like to call "leftist" and the idea he was merely telling them what they wanted to hear with the intent to then do what he wants is hard to interpret any other way. Anyway, this was the subject of post number 193.
Here is post #51, in which the poster provided a name of a military operation as the response to a request for a suggestion on how to deal, militarily, with the Taliban:
Here is post #192, in which I commented on the idea that Arc Light, the military operation should not be considered the goal or strategy of our attempt to address the Taliban:
This "operation" is merely that, a military operation. What is the strategy? What is the goal we are trying to reach? What impedes us? How does it impede us? How do we overcome it? How do we reach our goal?
A red button on a desk is not a plan to achieve a goal with a specific strategy. So, while Arc Light may be something our military is capable of, how does it fit the strategy to achieve the goal?
I actually agree with some of the thought process - when we engage in military activity, we should only do what we do well, and we should do that so well we don't have to engage in long term military activities. But at this point in time I think we have fucked things up so badly in the Middle East we need to identify what the goal is by debating it in Congress, then identify a strategy, again, debate in Congress, and then implement the strategy without any constraints and achieve the goal. I am not sure the strategy will be to use military force first. But if it is I am in favor of doing what we do better than anyone else in the world and cutting this guerrilla fighting bullshit to a minimum. We suck at that, especially in other people's lands.
And, finally, here is post number 193

Did mcbear say it was you? While it may not have been you, this dude said exactly that earlier in this thread:

And he was endorsed by mlfun in post #51 on this thread. Neither of those things is part of your moveon.organism target - they seem to be more aligned with your way of thinking.
So, mlfun, where is the other 3/4 of a thought that is missing from post #208?
