^ It's clear, but it still reduces the amount of light hitting the sensor. One of the reasons I don't use them a bunch; I don't have lenses that are A) expensive enough, or B) fast enough.

Also I don't use uv filters at all because they degrade image quality and reduces the light entering the sensor, but then again the use of a UV filter is subjective.
