Succinctly correct, as usual but isn't it a shame he needed a pass on the first official day on the job for something that while vitally important as a symbol for our country, is largely ceremonial and should be without controversy?

Or in the case of Reagan, our first no shit stick president, knows how to communicate to his constituents and rally them to his support.

He was superb at acting like a good politician. People are still convinced today.

I think Lincoln or Roosevelt might get that "first" mantle but yes, Reagan was very good at getting folks to support him.

Here is a hint. If you are going to whine, try picking a subject with substance instead of insignificance. Otherwise you just look petty. The smart person would wait until there is a VALID reason to complain and criticize instead of...oops, too late.
Like you guys on the left ALWAYS did with President Bush.

Man it sucks to have to take your own medicine doesn't it?

Babe, when you guys ever get around to actually serving "medicine" we might know. Right now we are just watching flailings of desperation. It's fun to watch.

And yes, we pounding Bush on policy and stupidity and then when he became a caricature of himself and thoroughly screwed the country he just became a whipping boy. But it all began with, and was supported by very solid, hard proof of bad policy and bad decisions and bad judgment and bad outcomes.

That is a good point.

Bush1.1 had that opportunity after 9/11. He had absolutely everyone supporting him and he squandered the opportunity in absolutely epic fashion.
