I finally heard someone in the media mention something I've been thinking and hoping for, and that is the "Obama effect". The man brings with him such a gigantic wake of hope and aspiration and certainty of purpose, that people cannot help but to be swept up by it. In Europe, apparently, they've talked about this Obama effect shortening the global recession by restoring confidence. I'm a big believer in this, because I don't think you can separate the recession from the debt of confidence among us all.

That actually worked with Reagan to some extent. If he had not done such drastic tax cuts in his first year he would have shortened the inflation spiral by a couple of years. As far as national pride, he did achieve that.

Anyone else notice the pattern here?

First we have Peter S Strangelove
Then we have Dick C Strangelove.

I got tired of waiting for the commercial to end on yours so I got one straight from Youtube.

YouTube - Barack Obama Oath of Office - washington D.C [ HQ] [ OFFICIAL]

This one's on the Great Orator, bear. At the :06 point, Obama clearly begins to repeat the oath before Roberts has finished the first phrase. His focus on the oath broken (not reading it from notes), Roberts loses his place as he realizes Obama's made his first error of his administration. Watch the Biden oath. The audio is not synced with the video but he does not begin speaking until the opening phrase is completed by Stevens.

^How on God's green earth could you not be for anyone who isn't Bush? W. was that bad and is indefensible on almost any level regardless of past party affiliations. Unknown debt, massive federal gov't move to socialism, and a weak foreign policy strategy before and after the horrid attacks are all W. has the ability to point to. Failure has a new name and a new definition. History has a new beating boy.
