Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

These bad cops appointed themselves judge, jury and executioner and thought they could get away with it because the guy was a Mexican. Fucking bastards got everything they had coming to them, glad it was a commutation and not a pardon, these scumbags will be marked as felons for the rest of their lives.
Your lack of understanding of the situation is what is truly tragic. Perahps you should read some of the transcripts. Perhaps you should maybe take the word of 2 of the BP agents over that of a convicted drug runner? Oh that's right you don't care about the truth, you just care about the propaganda.
Are you some kind of anarchist or something?

Thank God we are getting the most intelligent man alive as our new President then. We should be rockin' and rollin' in no time. I mean he hasn't even taken the oath yet and he is fixin' stuff isn't he?

I have read the transcripts, you fucking idiot. Quiz time: tell me, who were the primary witnesses against these guys? You win if you say "other border patrol agents". Read the Grand Jury Indictment. Read the trial transcripts. Read the appeal transcripts. These felons were obviously guilty, and got just what they deserved. Of course, you and the rest of the RWNJ's are smarter than the 12 Grand Jurors, the 12 Trial Jurors, and the entire 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, aren't you? You got a real lock on the truth, and they are just a bunch of liars, right? You can't even tell your so-called "truth" in your post, they weren't convicted on the testimony of the drug runner, they were convicted on the testimony of other border patrol agents. The entire epsiode is emblematic of what has happened to the far right in this country: you people invent some story you then claim is "truth", and then live in total denial, as a matter of habit - it's a way of life for you guys. My guess is, the real truth is, you've never read any of those documents, and have actually recieved all of your information on the subject from the RWNJ machine, because that's what you are spouting, a bunch of crap.
Oh, and tell me, is it ok for cops to shoot unarmed suspects, or only unarmed Mexican suspects? This is just another case where talk radio, which needs outraged listeners to be outraged about something all the time, is hurting the Republican Party, which is why Bush resisted this for the last five years, and then in the end, left them convicted felons.
You clowns now seem to think that you have the right to supplant our jury system, and announce findings of guilt or innocence that are somehow superior to the findings of the American Judicial System, and enforce these findings using your RWNJ Media MegaPhone. You literally badgered Bush into this, and the real reason they got the commutation has a whole lot more to do with Texas politics than it does the actual guilt of these men. The truth is, twelve grand jurors heard this case and indicted them, twelve jurors heard this case and convicted them in a trial where they were represented by a legal defense, and a Court of Appeals reviewed the case for quite some time, and found they were justly tried and convicted. Johnny Sutton, whom you bozos have smeared, went after these guys because he needed to send a message to bad cops: they do not have a right to act as judge, jury and executioner on fleeing suspects. Republicans seem to think it is ok to do just that when it’s a Mexican. It’s all part and parcel of the Jim Crowing of the illegal alien issue by talk radio and the Right Wing Nut Job wing of the GOP, the faction that has lead this country to ruin. These guys were flat out guilty, easy to see when one reads the sworn testimony of their fellow officers, who testified these criminals conspired and attempted to get other border patrol agents to conspire in covering up this crime, asked them to help them conceal evidence, and in the end got caught when another cop turned them in. There is no “conspiracy” by the judicial system here, it’s a couple of bad cops who crossed the line, and they got in a big, big jam because of their own actions. They should have been left to rot.
