Doesn't sound like it's engine-related specifically, but I'm curious to hear what happens when you do a "dyno pull" in park. If you do not hear it under full throttle acceleration until 50kph, I seriously doubt it's anything combustion-related. Which means it's something with the drivetrain behind the motor or at the wheels.

Yep, a guy ran over it and kept on driving, said he felt a vibration.

that's my thought too. if it was the engine, the noise would be there from the start. i don't see why the lifters and such would only make the noise at 50mph or whatever makes no sense..

so, dump the heep and get something worthy instead.

^ I was going to get there eventually. The primary issue with the truck - my opinion - can be found on the front, back and sides, where it says "Jeep".

I was thinking: varies w/ engine RPM -> combustion or valve train related (possibly connecting rod of cracked piston in Worst Case)

Varies with vehicle speed: Drivetrain related -> U-joint, tire / wheel problem, something wrapped onto the shaft or axle, or balancing weight on d-shaft gone missing.

It's a Jeep, maybe it ran over something while off-road?

However someone once told me that jeep was actually an acronym for Just Empty Every Pocket.

We're all jumping ahead until we know whether it is engine or drivetrain related.
