Local CBS is broadcasting NY CBS live, plane was full. They were interviewing a local private pilot who was on the WSH and watched it come down, said the left engine was spewing flames.

Currently the divers are reporting they have not found anyone else, which is good news because the plane was full with an extra pilot in the jumpseat for a total of 151.

Last reported airspeed was 172 miles per hour.

I think that speaks pretty well to the durability of the airframe.

The plane has now floated about two miles from the place it initially stopped.

Had to be pretty darn scary on board that thing and at least the water would cover up the secondary human "accidents".

CNN is saying no fatalities and no serious injuries. That was some good work by the pilot.

The plane landed around 53St and is now around 23 street at Chelsea Piers.

That is what is being reported. That he hit a spray of Canada Geese and took out both engines.

They're interviewing passengers now, reports of "explosion" and "boom" from them and then the pilot came on and said they were going down.

They're also reporting both engines were out.

Canadian Geese eh?
I was thinking more on the lines of poor mechanical maintenance or a blown head gasket or something or another but of course they aren't going to admidt to that.
