I see. I'll make a note of that.

I knew a man who went out and bought an additional car just to have the extra tank. I didn't have that kind of money back then. When you had to buy gas on the Odd/Even day plan and the stations were out on your day, you just had to drive and hope for the best. I DID shift out of Drive and coast a lot. How's that for planning ahead?

Saddam posed no threat to his own people nor did he pose a threat to other nations in the region. The sad irony of this is that the No Fly Zone policy was working.* Bush illegally invaded a nation that posed no threat to the United States or its allies. Iraq was not involved in 9/11 and was not responsible for any attack on any American interests or the interests of its allies. There was no justification for the war.

*I give high marks to GHWB who understood the region well enough to realize Saddam must stay in place to keep the Shiites in check – Iran, Hizballah, and the Shiite majority in Iraq. I give Clinton high marks as well for having the good sense to keep the NFZ policy in place during his administration. GHWB’s idiot son succeeded in causing needless death, destruction, and destabilizing the region only to ensure his reelection in 2004.
But it's a just cause if it it was all for Israel.

Our cut and run from Viet Nam was totally due to weakness!!! Every damn soldier who died there died in vain!

Jesus, J. WTF are you blubbering about today?

Time for my "Republicans are Pussies" thread I guess.

I note that you don't see the same "just want to tear you down" focus against politicians who don't get in over their head, stay there [or stay the course] and critically damage this country. Those folks, both dem and rep get fair treatment by all discussions. It is only the incompetents that get torn apart.
