mcbear frequently goes to the market and buys apples but when he gets home, he always finds oranges in the bag because he can't tell the difference.

Ask me how I know.

Fairness Doctrine only applies to the broadcast spectrum.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

The logic of the reasoning is a comparison of news gathering sources. Neilsen does a spread that captures several things. The one I am comparing is the news to news to news to news.

True, ABC, NBC, CBS are not 24 hour news channels, but then again, neither are Fox or CNN or MSNBC. Their entertainment and infotainment programs [like BillO or Larry King or Hannity or Nancy Grace] are not the same as news. That is why I didn't, as an example compare 8:00 or 9:00 prime time ABC, NBC, CBS or even regular cable with the CNN or Fox 8:00 or 9:00 fare. CNN/Fox would be overwhelmed.

The ONLY valid comparison is news source to news source to news source. And that is cable/sat news to broadcast news to internet news to newspaper to radio to local news to other sources. Otherwise you are comparing apples to oranges to bananas.

I can't eat oranges. They give me acid reflux.

And did you know that one of the few words that can't be easily rhymed.

Orange you glad you now know that?

The demographic results are also not good news for Faux, while they are maintaining their large audience of Pissed Off White People, they are not attracting younger viewers
in the numbers they need to maintain their lead. Also, they are about to lose their exclusive access to top admin officials, which will naturally lead to less viewship.
Most of the, wait, almost ALL of the highly EDUCATED people I know (med school professors, researchers, doctors, etc) watch CNN. I do agree that a bunch of hillbillies, pissed off white people, and the lesser educated do watch Fox. Fox caters to a "special" group and unfortunately there are just more of these people around. I mean less/under/un-educated vs highly educated. These are the same people that like CNNs Nancy Grace. Foxnews just puts too much drama and spices into their broadcast. It also seems like the official news network of the republicans. Definitely not my taste. I like it straight in the middle therefore I prefer CNN.

So it really sucks for you when you buy apples, then, doesn't it?

No, not really. The difference b/w people who watch fox as compared to cnn is not subtle imo or at from my observation personally. Very different audience.
