Actually, that's a rather expensive version (AWD)--probably $25k for that particular 20 year old camper van. Those owners are absolutely fanatical about them--weird

I actually recommended a used one to my mother. She couldn't understand the correlation between luxury car and VW. No go.

The thought and expense of the technology going in to it is excessive. One excessive feature the VW CEO here showed me with a Phaeton sitting on the floor. If you sit in the seats, the computer starts calculating your height from the weight sensors in the seats and the sensors in the back of the seats that pickup where your shoulders are, thus automatically moving the headrest to where the computer calculates where your head should be.
