He loves books and here is a glimpse of what he has been reading. I present this because there is a myth, perpetuated by Bush critics that he would rather burn a book than read one. Like so many caricatures of the past eight years, this one is not only wrong, but also the opposite of the truth and evidence that bitterness can devour a small-minded critic. Mr. Bush loves books, learns from them, and is intellectually engaged by them.
For two terms in the White House,President Bush has been in the arena, keeping America safe and facing down enormous challenges, all the while acting with dignity. And when on Jan. 20 he flies from Washington to Texas one last time, he will do so as he arrived -- with friends and a book nearby.
FLEES, it's spelled FLEES, not flies.
Bushie may have been in the arena for two terms but "facing down", not so much. More like getting his ass kicked by nearly every challenge that came his way. Budget, Economy, Foreign Policy, Trade Deficit.
Even his own party, both parts of it disowned him and locked him in the White House during the entire campaign season. He was considered a pariah to the party, a pariah to McCain's campaign and certainly to the country.
Support him all you want. Enjoy the bottom rung. I might suggest you contact the James Buchanan Fan Club for a better understanding of just how to finally accept the realities of WORST. On January 20, they will be the one's partying like it's 1859.
