Gas Prices are down and so is Gas mileage

I don't know if any one else has noticed since the price of gas has dropped so has my gas mileage.

I drive 50 miles a day 6 days a week in my company truck (Ford Ranger V6) when I was paying between $3.75 and $4.25 a gallon I was getting around 275 miles to a tank. Now I am paying around $1.60 a gallon. And getting about 245 miles per tank.

I reset my trip every time I fill up and I keep very good records. The proof is in black & white.

So why am I losing 2 miles to the the gallon?

If you thank you can or you thank you can't your right

In our area, the addition of alcohols (ethanol, methanol) to the gasoline can account for that difference.

Cars run leaner in cool weather that's why drag cars run faster at night.
