I was looking at my registration date and could not believe it had been that long! I can remember the day I registered: It was not long before I was to deploy with 162 Soliders to Iraq, and I had spent the weekend at the drag strip, taking my ZX7 for a few final runs before I left US soil. Unfortunately....some how the Battalion commander heard about it and the next working day I was in his office explaining myself....sigh...again. I heard something about conduct unbecoming an officer......then I told him that I was trying to set the example to my Soldiers that instead of doing it on the street, take it to the track...sir...he told me to go hang out with other people who own Mercedes until I was out of command...so I searched for Mercedes clubs and and i found this site. A lot of good that did, you all are just as crazy at motorcycle folks, just have better insurance LOL.
I was part of a production known as The Great Exodus. GermanStar played Moses, Zeitgiest played Joshua, and I played the Edward G. Robinson part. We fled our native land following years of torture and oppression. I also got to play The Plague of Fire and Brimstone, while Z was The Plague of Frogs..
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
