Tipsy Laird

2 drams Scotch whisky
1 orange, juice and zest
6 slices sponge cake
1lb raspberries
4oz dark or white chocolate, grated
1 carton good quality fresh custard (or make your own)
1 pint double cream
1 tub mascarpone cheese
2oz toasted flaked almonds

1. Mix the whisky and the orange juice and pour in a shallow bowl. Add the slices of sponge cake until all the liquor is absorbed.
2. Scatter the raspberries over the top, sprinkle lightly with sugar then add the chocolate.
3. Top with the custard.
4. Whip the double cream until half whipped, combine with the cheese and spoon over the trifle. Scatter the toasted almonds and a few raspberries (or glace cherries-but I don't like them) over the top just before serving.
5. Run about five miles per helping.

Where's drew's barf guy when we really need him?

Now here I am trying to drink this damn single malt stuff ( Ardbeg ) it's ok with a little bit of iodine taste to it thought
