I want to see real Democratic leadership on Democratic principles, two of which is that we are all equal before the law and we all have the right to pursue happiness in any way that does not infringe on the rights of others. This pastor has no use for either of those principles. Obama frames it as a "difference on issues", to me, there is a difference between issues de jour and principles.
Your concern for Democrat principles deserves a thread all of its own. But, alas, beyond serving special interest groups and forging ahead with identity politics, those principles are mostly promise with no production. The real problem for you Dems is that you can't be really honest about your goals and still be elected.

What a coincidence. The real problem with you Republicans is that you can't get elected, period.

The most laughable part of your stupid post is that everyone in this country has watched your party sell out every fucking thing they ever claimed to stand on, doing more to advance socialism in this country than anything in our history. Fucking hypocrites, the lot of you, you wouldn't know a principle if it went off like an atom bomb.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

I would agree with you 100% but then the earth might stop its rotation.

To be correct though, the republican voters have not sold out, the Republican politicians have sold out.

The Republican party tried to triangulate like the Clintons and failed miserably. So they compromised on everything they stood for and called it bi-partisanship.

The dirty little secret is that the vast majority of conservative voters are better informed than liberal voters. So when they see the triangulation and the overt betrayals they get very upset and stay home and do not write checks.

When the dust has finally settled on the election you will see that a lot of conservatives sat this election out. There was tremendous voter turnout for Obama but interestingly enough roughly the same amount of voters overall as there was in 2004.

Conservatives smell the bullshit and stay away. Liberals swallow it whole and come back for more until they get sick of it. You'll see it soon enough with Obama's about face on everything.

You mention conservatives but you don't mention the NeoCon half of the Republican Party. Which part did not show up for the election?

There were NINE MILLION more votes casts than in 2004 but the Republicans dropped 3% of their voters from 2004.

Most suggest that the Republicans just picked the wrong candidate.

I agree with both of these (mostly). Go figure.
