Mayers wish list to Santa

Last Monday the U.S. conference of Mayors sent it's list of wishes to the political equivalent Santa Claus; (Congress)

The mayors claim the economy will be stimulated if their wishes are granted. Here is some of the list.

$ 1.102 billion in projects involving sidewalks

$ 1 million for annual sewer rehabilitation in Casper, Wyo.

$ 6.1 million fore corporate hangars parking lots and a businessapron at the Fayetteville, Ark airport.

15 projects with the term " Stadium " in them Including a $ 150 million Metromoverextension to the Florida marlins' baseball stadium.

81 projects mentioning " Landscaping " and/or beautification efforts.

Total cost of wish list $ 73,163,299,303 They claim this will create an estimated 847,641 jobs in 2009&2010

My math is a cost to taxpayers of about 86,314 per job what a deal"

If you thank you can or you thank you can't your right

Other than it being a repost, your math is wrong.

You forgot to count materials [steel, concrete, hardware, supplied goods, rentals, etc], transportation costs for materials and supplies, and current employment [who will take up well over 50% of any infrastructure work in this country]. Those costs would be the high end of any project costs, not the new employment generation.

Also, that was intended as an all encompassing wishlist, not a project plan.

Other than its being a repost, with bad math, the grammar and spelling make it well-nigh impossible to wade through...

Is that enough yet?

We have to cut him slack. He drives a BMW. He made "choices". That has to weigh on him.
