The stats were from 2006, before two separate UAW/Big 3 contract concessions. So the base is not valid to the discussion. Separate to that, the stats failed to provide apples to apples comparators [which I added for you with the Toyota manager's comments].

Third, you provided the link to the study that the $29 Gap article already provided. It essentially did not argue your point since it failed to differentiate costing and credits.

So yeah, like those stats and studies.

Good spin! If the Big 3 had enough wit to play the national-defense angle, they could get all teh merkins behind them in a jiffy! Skippy

Anyway, this is not a referendum on the Big 3, the UAW, or Senate Republicans!

ALL THREE suck @$$! We can all agree on that

But how much of our nose shall we cut off to spite our face? That is the question.

That is it in a nutshell.

It has to be looked at in the "what occurs NOW and Forward". That is where the impacts are going to be. Folks that think we won't have a million additional unemployed by letting them fail or Chapter 11 just don't have a grasp of how business works and how this economy actually is. We have already had one tipping point. I am not so sure we can handle another.

Of course the third option that folks have yet to think about is Chinese, Indian or Saudi investors scooping up GM and Ford. I can see the folks who wrap themselves in the flag backing that option well.

And if you don't think it can happen, ask the folks at Rover and Jaguar how they like the new Indian ownership, purchased from Ford.

Oh so now its racism. Great we have to bail them out because the foreigners will scoop them up. You are such a transparent racist and xenophobe. Now it comes out.

We've already given the Chinese a monopoly on a major guidance component for missiles and smart weapons. Might as well give them the Malibu.....

My concern is not with who owns what. My concern is the decision making on labor and location that would impact this country.

That's disgraceful, even for you, TNT. Yeah, McBear's a racist xenophobe

This forum is in dire need of an intelligent right-winger. Even sentient and coherent would do, at this point.

Anybody 'for assistance' that thinks it's a darn shame the money to keep the scallywags afloat is going to come from the 700,000,000,000 already authorized to right the economy?
