Obama and Blago...

So the Obama camp is scrambling to distance themselves from the disgraced Governor, who was trying among other things to auction Obama's suddenly-vacant senate seat.

I'm sure there are some people (who shall remain nameless) who think this all started before the election (pretty clear that Bluto's office was already under investigation) but "they" (whoever they are) leaned on the "right people" to keep it quiet until after the election because it might have cost Obama votes.

Of course Obama is now asking Bluto to resign, while they apparently were former buds -- at least from a governmental perspective.

Personally I think BO is just ticked off that Bluto tried to sell his seat; after all, in Chi-town politics, it's BO's to sell, isn't it?

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. (Winston Churchill)

yawn

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

You all just watch as the Democrats clean up their own mess. Meanwhile, Senator Larry Craig, convicted of soliciting shithouse sex, how's he doing after all this time? Seems we never saw an uprising of Republicans in the Senate to bar him from his seat, nor did we hear Bush call for his immediate resignation, did we? At least the Democrats drive out there crooks, instead of re-electing them.

Not so sure they were former political buds. Blago endorsed Obama's opponent in the 2004 Senate race. Obama pushed the Ethics Reform Act that Blago vetoed and which Obama helped overturn just this past year. Many think the fallout of that veto and the desire of Blago to grab what he could prior to the law going into effect 010109 is what triggered the investigation.

That old news? Why are you dredging up old ghosts from the past. We're all concerned with what's going on today. That's bad enemy German talk, gosh darn it.
