I too, have a German bias. Just never heard of the 'sport' mentioned in the 'Buru video. If there is such competition, I'd pay to go see it.

I think maybe the 93 500E shell that is getting the 675HP Supra Twin Turbo transplant would be a good choice.

I have to say that guy has very good car control. I usually don't pay much attention to drifting but that was well done.

I think the key to emulating that sort of performance is large power + short wheelbase + AWD

That certainly helps. There is just so much you can do with rearwheel drive after the AWD cars came along. But then again, I can't imagine the desire to do airport drifting much. It would require a tire sponsor as he had to have burned $3K of tires doing that shoot.

I am still thinking about the supra motor in the 500E. It will provide much better economy daily driving and can still be programatically mapped to tune up to stupid power when desired by Palm Pilot on the dash.
