The King is Gone (So Are You)
(as recorded by George Jones)

Last night I broke the seal on a Jim Beam decanter
That looks like Elvis
I soaked the label off a Flintstone Jelly Bean jar
I cleared us off a place on that one little table
that you left us
And pulled me up a big ole piece of floor

I pulled the head off Elvis
Filled Fred up to his pelvis
Yabba Dabba Doo, the King is gone
And so are you

'Round about 10 we all got to talking
'Bout Graceland, Bedrock and such
The conversation finally turned to women
But they said they didn't get around too much
Elvis said, "Find 'em young"
And Fred said "Old Fashioned girls are fun"
Yabba Dabba Doo, the King is gone
And so are you

Later on it finally hit me
That you wouldn't be 'a comin' home no more
'Cause this time I know you won't forgive me
Like all of them other times before
Then I broke Elvis' nose
Pouring the last drop from his toes
Yabba Dabba Doo, the King is gone
And so are you
Yabba Dabba Doo, the King is gone
And so are you

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Damn Dig, I think you need the clkman course in song writing. I teach a 3 day course, the cost is a 30 pack of Budweiser.

I can't stand George Jones, Randy Travis, or any asshole who can't sing in properly enunciated English. Bring back the good ol' days when Ella, Patsy, Jim Reeves, and Eddie Arnold knew how to pronunciate and act cosmopolitan without betraying their roots. That irony feeds the soul, the blatant twang of a faker merely pokes at the fire not realizing it isn't lit.

My son did one of those family tree searches and found out that Patsy Cline was my grand mothers cousin.

You are so incredibly off point that if they replaced the arrow on a one way sign with your picture, drivers would instantly know that traffic should flow in the opposite direction.

It's not about the singer, it's about the song.

It is unsurprising that not everyone understands that when even the last blue rimmed glass has been smashed, the actions described in the song are perfectly reasonable.

"Drink fast. Forget faster."
From the Book of Yosey
