Funny you mention that...
I formed a budget plan that displays what someone's "means of living" should be, dependent on their salary. This is based off of a percentage that would go toward different sections (housing, food, automobile/transportation, etc etc).
Then I compared this same thing with many people I know, as well as people out of my general area... Everyone was living beyond what their means should have been.
Have you ever taken the chance to see how many people that earn less than 60k a year are living in a house that is over 100k?
I know one thing is for certain, the pattern here is..... many Americans are living beyond their means. Ask any budget consultant or financial advisor.
IT SHOULDN'T BE NEWS TO ANYONE!!!!!!
Ps: Did you know that no one should ever be living in a residence that costs more than 30% of their annual income? Did you know by the time you are 40, if you want to get real specific, you should have enough money saved to live for 10 years without any job? I guarantee you right now, 90% of the people on this board can not do that. I also venture to say that probably 1/3 of the board is spending too much money on their housing.
I studying this for the past several years... See the pattern?
