Time To Come Clean

Yes, I'm a Mac user. Yes, many of us are. And we're good at telling happy stories about how great our computers are and how much we love them.

It's a facade we put on, hiding just how miserable we really are with these things.

Describe what there was to 'get used to'?

I remember those things. They were marketed as 'desktop publishing'. Quite hilarious, actually. Changing out those little disks to change fonts, etc.

I program PCs for a living, I use a Mac at home. For an example, to connect to the wireless network in my home on a new Vista laptop, it took me two hours of fiddling with this and that to finally get it to work. My Mac desktop (which unlike most PC desktops has built in wireless) was up and running in two mouse clicks.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

-President Barack Obama, 1st Inaugural address

It's you. Just last week, I connected a new Vista laptop to my secure wireless network in two clicks and the time it took to type in a 10-digit password (one-time only) (3 seconds?).

+1, the same here, I upgraded to Vista and it took 4 mouse clicks as I have 2 separate wireless routers running 2 separate ISP's in our house........
