My company is very supportive of it's employees. Much more so then they are of me. I work my ass off so they have somewhere to go tomorrow, so they can get a check at the end of the week. I give them paid vacation, out of my pocket, I give them holidays off and paid, I give them unlimited unpaid vacation days, if you do not want to be here I don't want you to be here either. In return they are good workers, and I have trained them myself so I know they are among the best in their field. When you have a child your off. My kid is sick, stay home. My mom is ill, go see her. etc...
But when it is my turn.... Can anyone give me a hand on Sat. pulling in some feeders, it is going to be a real bitch by myself...(Crickets chirping) oh I have a softball game, my sister is in town, soccer practice. Can you work late tomorrow? Sorry I have plans. I talked to my wife and she has somethings she wants me to do. (That is a quote!)
We have one of our guys leaving for Iraq in Feb. His last day of work is Nov. 28th. We are giving him the month of Dec. off. He informed me yesterday that he will be taking 10 days paid vacation for that time period. His vacation is based on his hiring date He was hired Nov. 4th 2006 and used up his last 10 paid vacation days for 2008 3 weeks ago. His employment year started over on Nov 4th. and he gets 10 paid vacation days /year. He has worked 8 days so far this month. He has had school 3 days which we pay him for, and he is working 3 days next week. And he thinks that he is entitled to the 10 days of vacation he would normally get if he was working here the entire year even though he is leaving for the next 18 months and has only worked 11 fucking days . What do I say to that. What would YOU?
