BBC NEWS | Africa | Somalia's pirates seize 33 tanks

These pirates, ^operating from Puntland/Somaliland^, have been doing this for quite some time.. probably with a little help from Ethiopia and.. ahem ahem.. Israel. (I can't help it )

When the Islamic Courts Union were in power, they single-handedly stopped these attacks. Now that the country is in chaos again with the ICU fighting forces from Ethiopia and the ousted government, piracy is back at an alarming rise. Of course nobody gives credit to the ICU for stopping the attack (they're accused of links to alQaeda, of course) the way nobody credited Taliban for stopping opium poppy plantation in Afghanistan. To the contrary, ICU will probably be blamed for piracy activity the way Saddam Hussein was blamed for 9/11 just to justify an invasion

If the ICU stopped the attacks at some time, why can't the heavy presence of US, Russian, etc. naval forces in the red sea stop it? Maybe they want it that way.

Don't worry Talhoube, we are not going to invade Somalia for two reasons:
1. Israel didn't push us to do it
2. There are no proven oil reserves in that region
