If it's a "left" issue, why did the GOP nominate McCain? Why does Sarah Palin, when she isn't busy trying to figure out her ass from her elbow, endorse GCC? The only political faction who has a lockstep mentality on GCC theory is the AM Radio Right. Mainstream Republicans, Democrats and the rest of the world are actually having a thoughtful discussion about it, while you guys are simply, as usual the be-in-denial-about-everything-party, the same kind of thinking that got us deeper and deeper into Iraq, deeper and deeper into earmarks and debt, and deeper and deeper into the thinking that "all regulation is bad".
The title of your thread is a canard, where you state "the people" "don't believe it" is just a pile of utter bullshit, unless of course you define "the people" as Glenn Beck's audience, which I am sure you do. Millions of people living in New England see it every day. Millions of people living in the Pacific Northwest see it every day. The whole country sees it, with the exception of a bunch of AM radio nuts who feed off of "outrage" issues so they can get morons to call in and other morons to listen to morons who call in. This isn't an issue for you TNT, instead of serious scientific issues, you AM radio freaks should stick with moaning about whether men will please, for the sake of Jesus, just stop fucking each other in the ass and wanting to get married, or whether or not Obama is going to force your kids to wear pink condoms in kindergarten, those issues fit you guys better.
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
-President Barack Obama, 1st Inaugural address
