Mamby Pamby Football/Army of One

The Army has changed its slogan, its uniform and its attitude. No more drill Sergeants, no yelling at new recruits, stress cards....basically the Army of one mentality. Well it looks like the NFL is following suite:
Big hits are creating big confusion in NFL - NFL - NBCSports.com

Now I will not sit through a whole game, and have only been to one foot ball game to watch my boyfriend at the time play...but that was CFL...so not sure it that is the same. But I love to watch the hard hitting high lights, and of course the well muscled men running around in tight pants :cheers. WTF!! Whats next, you have to ask permission to hit a guy?

That's why we have the beloved Marine Corps.

How can you go wrong with a force at arms whose recruiting slogan for over 2 decades was:

"We never promised you a rose garden."

I have to admit that is the one thing thing you guys have over us Army folks and other services....you stay the same. We always say KISS in the Army...but that is so far from the truth; a simple job has to be tasked out, singed off, meetings, FRAGO's...so that by the time we are ready to do something.....you Marines have already done it!

When did this all change?

I remember being knocked around by Ray Graham, Art Still and Jim Kovach when we would play full contact basketball for hours in the summers when I would come to Lexington for visits. I don't want to think of what that would have been like on the field.

Just being body checked into the goal post ten times a game was usually enough.
