^ LOL

Looks that way, doesn't it

No, actually, i signed up about a week ago to look at some R230 pictures - seriously considering the SL63. Since then I haven't found anything I felt like posting. Considering I don't own a Mercedes and have never done, there's little for me to say.

In any case, hello everyone. When I finally take delivery of my Tenorite Grey SL63, I'll certainly entertain a more glamourous (and more relevant) intro

As the resident scumbag conservative, you will find it odd that I agree with the Marxist statement, but only for certain industries, e.g. the sex trade on Denver's famed East Colfax Avenue.

I have always taken this to mean that in the purest sense, everyone should do work that utilizes their talents to the fullest. On the back side of it though everyone would then receive what they need to live.

My disagreement with it has always been based in the fact that there would need to be someone in Authority to say "Your talent is X." And there would have to be and Authority that says "Your need is Y."

Well, I may want more than what my need is. This also leaves no room for advancement. In addition this also flies in the face of millions of years of human existence in the sense that as humans we are hard wired to achieve. Their are very few people who are not wired this way. All cultures of record place a premium or hold in high regard those who have achieved. There has always been different ways to measure this but the common thread has been achievement.

This philosophy by definition, seeks to get rid of that as it sees "Competition" as a negative by-product of achievement. We see examples of this negative attitude towards competition creeping into our lives from every aspect starting at an early age. For an interesting take on this you should read a book that is fairly new to the scene:

The Trophy Kids Grow Up: How the Millennial Generation is Shaking Up the Workplace by Ron Alsop

Too much competition creates monsters but no competition creates people who are dependent. Just another example of "All things in moderation."

The poll is too Black and White to be germane [or any of the other Jacksons].

I agree with a nice morphing somewhere around 45%.

I think there should be a middle ground between Marxism and pure capitalism.

Perhaps we should mandate that corporations, if given the rights of individuals, must function with well adjusted "personalities". Work within a certain set of guidelines other than profit justifies all.

Of course there is. We've been wading in that middle ground for a long, long time.
