Just joshin' with ya. I lived there for about a year, so I'm tossing out all of the Minnesota trivia I accumulated.

A 427 smallblock? Wow, I do need to read up. Matter of fact, you know what? Hold my beer real quick...

It actually is a small block that has had the cylinder bores enlarged to maximum circumference allowed by the heads. Typically the maximum I should add. Probably started with a 5.7 to 6.2 Liter. Makes for one radical, high strung engine, in most circumstances. Great for the strip.

It would have been more fun if you had lost control when you hit it. Oh well, another boring vid!

typically, you are correct. starting with any iron block 402, thats how they get up to a 427. but the C5R block is a alum cast block made as a 7L 427ci. the LeMans Race team used this block in their C5R race cars (hence the name C5R on the block). I was lucky enough to find this block and get the setup done. i don't think they sell anymore C5R blocks and if you find one, its still $7K or more. its nuts. But you are correct, makes for a rock solid strip or track use. not to mention, there are people building tt setups out of it and are making well into the 1200s with it be reliable.
