I'd make a poll, but Bear'd probably add it to his tracking list. Do you think that McCain mighta had a chance had he selected his running mate wisely? Who do you think it should have been?

Since McCain has had no problem throwing Bush and his policies under the bus, IF he had taken that tact earlier and thrown the NeoCon Christian Conservative wing of the Republican Party under the bus and moved back to fundamental Conservative principles, I think he would have had a better chance.

Catering to the fringe, no matter who they are is just unwise. Notice that the Democrats leave the Nader and Green party completely alone. There is a reason for that.

1. Most will vote mainline Democrat anyway because they will not vote for a conservative.
2. The Democratic Party does not want to cater to that element of demands.

Now, use that same logic on the Republican side. See what the math would be today.
