The country get screwed when GW move it far right in last 8 yrs. But for some voters, far left will be just as bad as far right. SO for them it will be a choice of logic, a little bit of right. McCain fits that profile better than Obama. But some voters will prefer a change that will be 100% coming in next 4 yrs. in an extreme far left movement, because of bad experience in last 8 yrs, Obama is the choice.

The problem is that Bush did NOT move it far right, the last 8 years. Government has grown at an exponential rate since he's been in office. Conservatives are supposed to be about LIMITED government, not larger government.

Of course he did. The right is no longer associated with conservatism.

cmitch,
If you try to look at every one of GW's move in last 8 yrs. it is true not every move is far right, but some of them is stupid move does not matter which way you look at it. I try to look at it as an overall evaluation.

And to add to what cmitch said, the only things that Bush moved far right were social conservative issues, not fiscal or foreign policy.

On the other side of the coin, Obama is very far from "far Left". For "far Left", you have to look at Nader or Moore or La Riva.

But, one must remember that the right is supposed to champion the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights was designed to LIMIT THE GOVERNMENT, not the people. But, somewhere, that has been lost in translation to the point where the people are being told whether they can own a gun or not, where they can worship or not, etc. Order has to be maintained for a smooth running society but telling a student he cannot pray because he's on 'government property' is limitation of the people's rights. To top all this off, the Bush administration has overseen the creation of 'Department of Homeland Security'. Uh, excuse me, but, what the hell is the Department of Defense for???
