I am voting tomorrow and I am voting for...
I really cannot say, I am that unsure. No viable third choice, which I desperately want, so I have to balance the public good (my interpretation) versus what is good for me (again it is my interpretation). I feel Barack will be watered down (think Pelosi) in elected reality, but worry about placing so much dependence of society in governmental institutions. I don't believe the power should be given to ANY individual institution, but spread about for safety in all aspects from social, legal, and of course economic. Socialism seems to be the wave of the future right now, but too much of this leads to mental and individual sloth I feel.
McCain, on the other hand, has not distanced himself from Bush enough for me to get behind him with any enthusiasm. I know he has to cater to the near lunatic, self destructive, and very, very, radical near 25% that still believe Bush is a fine leader, but let's face it, all partisanship aside, Bush has been a disaster. Not as bad as we let on right this second, but an undeniable disaster nonetheless for this great nation. I think taxes are already totally out of control. Completely and ridiculously outrageous, to the point of pure undiluted insanity. When in just a few years your paid and owned home can be taken from you, should give genuine pause. Yes we all owe taxes to the society that benefits us, yes it is our duty, but to never really own your own home is a travesty beyond all measure. I do not fathom how it ever got this way. I agree with McCain on taxes of course. I absolutely do not agree with carrying on the Iraqi war. It is a money loosing venture and should be cut.
My voting is done in the best state of this great union, Texas. McCain will likely take Texas. I will throw my vote away. I will vote for Obama. I just hate Bush.
