Margin of Victory

I'm a bit intrigued by the fact that the margin of victory is apparently always much thinner than pre-election polls indicate. And Barack is already taking flak for appearing to celebrate before the fact. Actually he's taking care to avoid that appearance, calling himself superstitious. No doubt he's having trouble believing how close he is to winning this dubious privilege, getting to lead the USA in the year 2009.

What say you, how close will it actually be in the end??

I really do not know. My best guess is that it will be closer than expected. Then again it might be a relative run away for Obama.

You know, I take back my razzing about all y'all who aren't in swing states. Your vote most definitely does matter, even if it can't swing your state.

Because in the eyes of the public, the overall margin of victory goes a long way toward conferring legitimacy upon the victor, or toward denying it. Hell, remember GWB with his bragging about all the 'political capital' he'd gained after winning just 50.73% of the vote?

Every vote counts. Please don't throw yours away.

^ So remember all you Californians, your vote for McCain really does make a difference!
