The endorsement of Mr. McCain by a Qaeda-affiliated Web site isn’t a surprise to security specialists. Richard Clarke, the former White House counterterrorism director, and Joseph Nye, the former chairman of the National Intelligence Council, have both suggested that Al Qaeda prefers Mr. McCain and might even try to use terror attacks in the coming days to tip the election to him.
“From their perspective, a continuation of Bush policies is best for recruiting,” said Professor Nye, adding that Mr. McCain is far more likely to continue those policies.
An American president who keeps troops in Iraq indefinitely, fulminates about Islamic terrorism, inclines toward military solutions and antagonizes other nations is an excellent recruiting tool. In contrast, an African-American president with a Muslim grandfather and a penchant for building bridges rather than blowing them up would give Al Qaeda recruiters fits.
Other, much more enlightened experts than those leftwing hacks the NYT likes to quote, believe as I do that al-Qaeda is scared shitless that McCain might get elected and then step-up worldwide pressure to annihilate them and actually get Obama bin Laden, so they use classic reverse psychology to make sure Americans actually vote for Obambi. As a psychologist myself, I could not agree more w/ this view. It is only the far left who want to see it otherwise.
I was thinking this might have some credibility... until I saw the NY Times was involved! In case anyone hasn't figured it out, the terrorists don't give a shiite who is in office. There is no building bridges with the hardcore islamic militant because they don't want to! Duh!

So with your analogy do you believe that McCain can get OBL where George Bush and Dick Cheney failed? Has he got a plan to OBL and was unfaithful American by not sharing it and to enact it once elected? If he is not elected will he still be a traitorous American by not sharing his master plan after the election...

Weak, Jaybaugh, very weak. The "old reverse psychology" approach, eh? Given the method Osamma used to beat the Russians and how well they have managed to bait us into the same kind of "war of attrition" I think this is one of those situations where the principle of "Occam's Razor" fits the best. Al Qaeda says they support McCain. There is clear logic for why they would. It requires a complicated construction of "reverse psychology" to conclude they really meant Obama and not McCain. Therefore the unsupported and unnecessarily complex "reverse psychology" explanation is likely not valid. But you already knew that.
^It does not matter who the Al Qaeda endorse, as matter of fact, we knew the Republican will always kick ass the AQ more than Democrat. If that is the only consideration for your vote, no doubt, you should vote the Republican.

Which is exactly and undoubtedly what they did in '04.
