A long post. Get a coffee and settle in!!!!
I love how you put it into a language even the liberals can understand. And yet not one argument as to how it is not true. Well done Yosey, the personal attacks will soon follow, better lay low tonight.
I do understand the comparison.
Now, lets see if you understand the comparison that I'll give.
You are a staunch republican and "deserve" what you work for.
No one should get any benefit from what you earn.
ok. on that premise:
you're driving along the road and come to a bridge you need to cross to get to work.
You are not allowed to go across.
You didn't pay the "tax" to build the bridge.
You get sick. go to a public hospital, with a heart attack.
Your family is quite concerned. It's a bad one... you may not live..
You are denied service since you didn't pay into the public hospital fund.
get the picture?
what are you willing to pay for?
what are you not
willing to pay for.
we all pay, directly or indirectly for services.
Where is the line drawn.
Will you need an on the spot lawyer to get cared for at that hospital?
Do you have the wherewithal to rent a helicopter to span the bridge?
Most homeless and poverty level individuals are single mothers/ Vietnam vets/ mentally ill, physically handicapped people and minorities.
Would you like to watch a family slowly die from lack of food and health care?
Does the 3% increase in Capital gains tax mean that much to you?
Is the 3% increase in income over
$250,000. net income
going to break you?
I'm sure you waste more than 3% of your income on things you don't even use.
Look around your house and take a short inventory of things you own and actually use
I'll bet you have things that most average people would covet and cherish if they only had ONE of them, much less 4 or 5.
Take a good hard look at what we
(I'm including me, since I have way too many things.)
Is it gonna kill you to give a little to help the masses?
Sure, your response might be: *do nothing people don't deserve anything*
Yes, you are correct.
Can we determine who they are .. always? I think not.
Unless you've visited very poor people,
who through no fault of their own, are literally dying due to lack of assistance,
On a daily basis, I see the most destitute individuals who are not bitter or greedy or indignant over their situation.
They accept it. sadly so.. yes.. and they die, long before their time.
Is that what you are professing?
Is it possible to re-evaluate your "me first" position.
What does belonging to a society mean to you?
What does being a citizen of the USA mean to you?
