Really? The redistribution of wealth that both parties have proposed through the income tax process doesn't come close to an economic definition of Socialism?

Too late, it's already here

so·cial·ism (sō'shə-lĭz'əm)

That strategically placed "or" is pretty important

Meaning there are lots of socialists who recognize some version of the former but do not find much to love with the latter. The "or" bridges the two disparate versions of which there isn't much in common.

What I was thinking, as well. But we've been sneakier about the distribution. This year, both candidates have this "refundable tax credit" thing going on that just puts us deeper into said hole. Good thing there's more than 2 parties.

Does it really matter any more, given the national debt we all share and the sordid details of the bailout?

Fair enough. I'm sure you'll agree, better no kind of socialism than the wrong kind.

^ Step one IMO, is an earnest effort to buy back/pay off the national debt. We're years away at best, don't you think?
