So anyway, about Plugger and his weight gain...

I am at a loss. When I met Plugger (Davey's well deserved nickname) he was mid twenties, 7% body fat, six pack, black hair, pale smooth skin, and deep blue eyes. He was so good looking he was in the finals for a made for TV movie at ABC, he lost to a kid not as handsome but one who could at act a little. He was unbelievably good looking, perhaps the best specimen I have still seen to date. Never dreamed we could hook up but alas we found much in common.

He is the proverbial 15 year old boy personality wise, so he brings enthusiasm, courage, mood swings, and temper tantrums to the party. Doesn't really matter about his anger since his boyishness makes even his worse mood appear humorous. He hates it when he is really pissed and I burst out laughing.

He has gained about 45 lbs, he looks like shit. I have tried to reveal to him that looks are very important despite what pop culture America tries to persuade other wise. Everyone is immediately gauged upon the first meeting by how they take care of themselves, how they are dressed, and how they can express themselves with insight, manners, and speech. If you want to run with the so called elite you have to play their stupid game, just as you would anywhere else. So besides locking him in the basement with chains for two months anyone got any ideas?

Let me see, you are asking this on a board with a bunch of guys who have been married 15+ years.

While we all understand your plight on one scale or another, none of us are able to run as fast as we used to so direct confrontation is usually off the table. You have to weigh your options carefully.

If you are the cook in the family I might suggest either speed or laxatives as an additive to his diet.

Or the two of you could go out and buy two of the finest mountain or road bikes available in the Southwest [I suggest Cannondale from 15,000 miles of experience with them]. That will burn an amazing amount of weight in the first 2-3000 miles of riding [25 mile road runs, 4 times a week].

If you join the local bicycle club you will meet scores of other folks, most professionals doing the same thing. From experience I will tell you that by month six the weight will be gone and the odds are very high you will have found at least one or two new "friends". DANGER: Bike clubs blow couples apart express. I have the divorce bills to prove it - and a second wife.
