Don't worry my Republican buddies. Being the underdog really forces you to honestly look at your self and your world view. I must say that being one of the few social progressives in a very red state has made me very comfortable in my own skin and very compassionate tword my slope headed 'enlightened' neo-con friends and family who still think that after eight years of an extreme neo-con agenda that all the problems could be fixed by getting rid of democrats and regulation. Like a stumble bum coming off of an 8 year binge; "If I could only get one more intsey bitty drinkie poo, it's all gonna be okey dokey"!

The fact of the matter is I think the GOP is the best opposition party in the nation! That's why I'm voting Obama 08!

I'm glad it's all black and white for you brother. You must sleep very well at night.
Do your Mercedes have an accelerator and brake pedal so that you can apply either with varying degrees of force depending on the current environment?
Or do you have the neocon model with a GO and STOP button?
You know if GO is good then STOP is bad and vice versa! (How my mother in law drives BTW)
Proper balance is a the key to well engineered systems with controls and balances.
Full on Socialism = Disaster!
Full on Corporatism = Disaster!

Do you not agree my friend?

I contracted my home but I don't have a contractor's license. I built my own cabinets but I don't have a license to build cabinets. I wired my own house but I am not a licensed electrician (and yes, it's up to code and passed inspection). Apparently, you believe that licenses are magic pieces of paper that miraculously turns a dumb ass into a legitimate craftsman when there are plenty of knowledgeable, unlicensed people around who are just as competent as these licensed participants.

The problem with your argument is that once you start down the slippery slope of socialism, it's harder and harder to stop with the progression of it. Redistribution of wealth is socialism. You can cut it and slice it any way you want, but that is just what it is.

Let me see if I can do this...
The problem with your argument is that once you start down the slippery slope of capitalism, it's harder and harder to stop with the progression of it. Consolidation of wealth by a ruling elite is capitalism. You can cut it and slice it any way you want, but that is just what it is.

cmitch, did you ever go to public school? collect unemployment? enjoy a public park or landmark? drive across any bridge built by the CCC (There are still plenty in rural KY) How about vote to elect a Pres who would bail out private business with public money?

Please don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Moderation is key in all things political or otherwise. That is why we have a balance of power and term limits.

But you did those things for yourself so if any of them are done incorrectly, then you only have recourse to yourself. Would you have been so happy to let an unlicensed person do those jobs for you with no recourse if they did the job poorly. Licensing is a form of quality assurance, sure some of those with licenses will be dumb fucks who should not have the license, then there are complaints processes to have their licenses revoked or restricted.

Would you let someone without a medical degree and license operate on you?
