That's not the point....the chef puts the amount of wasabi he thinks it needs into the food to begin with. By adding more, you're sending him a message that he's no good at what he does, and you can't even think about consuming his work without tons of modifications.

Disrespectful.

The same is true with these gauche aftermarket kits for cars. It's not "cool"; it's embarrassing. If the car doesn't look good enough for you to own without fucking with it, then don't buy it. All that other shit just tells the world you're a pretentious and shallow individual who thinks good looks and outward appearance are more important than any......wait, you're from southern California. Never mind.

What I was fruitlessly trying to convey, is the foolishness of indulging one's vanity or letting it control their actions. Were it not for a bloated sense of vanity, Captain Z wouldn't have been so eager to "mod" his car that he'd try anything to do it.
