Well Drew you know I am an Digital Imaging Specialist at my job and have the full CS sweet. Its great. The thing about Adobe that I love is once you spend some serious time toying with all the programs and how they integrate with each other you will enjoy how light the apps are. You will be able to further enjoy the new color definitions, plug ins, and if you get really crazy running macros in Photoshop is awesome.
The thing to play with the most and learn is all your color pallets in Photoshop, and what you can and can not do in Illustrator. To be honest, I would have rather Quarkxpress maintain its strong hold on Desk Top Publishing. I have created several complicated layouts for printing (CLKMAN knows what I mean) in Adobe's publishing suite but I did not like how it would only like to import or render images better with only Photoshop extensions.
Also toy with the filters, because Adobe has now made things we use to do step by step a filter, you'll find this fantastic as it saves you doodoo time.
