McCain needed to stomp a mud hole in Obama's ass tonight, not just tie. This is where he's supposed to be strongest. Outside of foreign policy, McCain has nothing on Obama. A tie goes to the Dems.

He did, and, though I didn't watch it all and may have missed a gaffe, he exceeded my expectations. They were quite low, however. Obama is quite good at the game.

I'd say this one won't change anyone's opinion either way.

It was interesting. Looks like the folks that watch Faux or have drudge as their homepage think McCain won but the rest of the world seems to think it was about even.

I think Obama won on the Economic part but went even on the rest of the debate. He got frustrated at some of McCain's spewing of made up numbers [this sounds familiar] but held his own on Foreign policy.

McCain seemed to have a set message programmed in his head and kept to it very well. It won't change anyone's mind but McCainaans will think it dreamy.

I guess we will have to see what the polls say Monday and Tuesday. I couldn't stand to hear what the talking heads thought we should think.

FWIW, my impression?

McCain - a tired old man who wants everyone to trust him like an old grandpa and who will take care of the veterans, warm, fuzzy and shallow;

Obama - someone with some ideas but not a whole lot of a clue how he will implement them, trust me, leap of faith kind of thing;

I did not think either were inspiring in the slightest.

Please remember, this is the first time we have ever really had a chance to hear either of them speak other than the 5 second news grab...

^There is another separate MSNBC poll that has Obama wildly ahead.
