I think Hillary would have carried more Obama voters if she was the candidate.

True, but that should even out/settle down once the radicals are out of the WH, replaced by either Obama or McCain.

I don't have a TV, so I just listened to the end of the first hour and most of the second. I thought they both presented a credible case for their positions. I suppose the nod goes to Obama for at least holding his own and effectively conveying gravitas under pressure. Of course the same could be said of McCain, given his advanced age and temperament issues.

One thing that radio could not convey (aside from the usual body language stuff) was the fact that McCain never once even looked at Obama during the entire debate. Given that the candidate's podiums were very nearly facing each other, that was not an easy thing for McCain to accomplish. In fact it appeared peculiar and uncomfortably deliberate. I've no idea what McCain's reasons were, but the effect was that McCain appeared offended to share the stage with a black man.

I noticed his nervousness when he was asked to look at Obama to answer a question. He looked up as briefly as he could then he turn away, it was awkward. Obama on the other hand looked at him when addressing him. What an insolent black man, how dare he?
