Yeah, I've got as much proof as you do, but perhaps a cleaner pair of glasses to help spot the obvious...

As I said about, I don't think this is a political "show." He's done this sort of thing before. Remember that McCain postponed the GOP convention due to the national emergency on the Gulf coast. This is typical McCain. Remember his comment to Obambi that he "...would rather lose the election than lose the war!" As much as I question him at times, McCain IS FOR REAL!

And his action just might push the bailout through...

um, we have nationalized four financial institutions and committed to $2Trillion in debt. The financial markets have already crashed. It is just a matter of how bad. And as for the economy, the financial sector crash was the only prop that has been covering the cracks in the overall economy. It is simply a matter of degree.

The Katrina postponement was entirely predictable. This is shocking. Shocking, I say.

But I do see your point, the presidential election is only of secondary import to Mr. McCain.

The bailout is going to go through, whether he is there or not. All he has to do is show up for the vote [or not]. He is not on any finance committee, nor is he an expert in the field.

The question regarding the bailout is whether McCain can distance himself from Bush Economic Doctrine. Debates and campaigns make that difficult.

As you have correctly pointed out to me numerous times: "THE FINANCIAL MARKETS ARE NOT THE ECONOMY!"

I don't think Katrina [sic] caused him to postpone the convention, but I do think his priorities are in order--he puts his country above his political aspirations.
