Moreover, it’s also worth pointing out that the passwords were stored unencrypted, evidence of the practice can also be seen within the screenshots of the admin panel. As far as the website’s administrative URL is concerned, it has since been changed once it leaked online (w3.billoreilly.com/pg/jsp/admin/managecustomers/newpremiummembers.jsp), which isn’t excluding the opportunity for abuse of the subscribers email addresses in spear phishing attacks, “for starters” since some of the users have already admitted of using the same password at different web sites, including PayPal.
From 25 years of experience with these things I would be surprised if the majority of Bill O users don't have the exact user name and password for every site they go to, from their bank to their credit cards to their paypal account to benzworld. Stats show that group is historically lazy with password and username security.

BillO & Company should be held liable for a lack of encryption to protect their users from such a security breach. That lapse is just lazy, thoughtless management. I sense a trend.

Hmmmmmm that would really be kinda dumb to use the same password for everything........ I know its kinda hard for some to remember the different passwords since they vist so many trash sites.

However to use the same password for everything is kinda like saving that rubber you used last night to use it again tommorow.........

I can't begin to count the number of folks that do that. I caution them against it but "it's too hard to keep up with all the different user names and passwords" is the usual answer. So what we have is a lot of UserName=Hobby - PassWord=Cat/Dog Name

If you want mine you better know the nickname of the cheerleader that I lost my virginity too and be able to speak gaelic.
