Wel in the context of Obama/Biden yes I truly believe McCain/Palin is a better choice. Here is why:
1. War on Terror. Obama is NOT clueless, he just wants to do what is politically expedient. The problem is that we can not as a country, do the politically expedient thing which is to withdraw. I have been to both major fronts (Iraq and Afghanistan) and I see the progress. Unfortunately the media does not allow the American public or the world community to see this. This is my one and only true Hatred. That is I HATE the media as it is now.
You see progress but you didn't say you see a victory because it is not a possible outcome in Iraq [It is in Afghanistan in more ways]. The American media is not the bad guy. They do show all sides [you just have to read and read and watch and watch, not just single source or read what a web site tells you that the media says.
The War Against Terrorist can never be won by the Military. It is not strategically possible. It has to be fought by Intelligence agencies, cooperative between as many countries as possible. It has to be fought by FBI and Police agencies, Interpol, MI6. Military can only be used in tactical solutions. The reasons are manifold but mainly because we are fighting people in small groups, not countries, regions or entities. This means Cowboy Mentality Foreign Policy which alleviates much of the world is counterproductive to the true goals of hunting down REAL terrorists and either bringing them to justice or killing them.
2. The Economy. Obama wants to raise taxes. It may be only on the "Top Income Earners" but it still is raising taxes. Time and time again history has shown that when you raise taxes that puts a downward pressure on the economy. When you reduce taxes it stimulates economic growth. Not to mention that the reason that Obama keeps citing for the his tax increases is "fairness." He says that he wants to make the tax system by raising the tax rate on those who are more wealthy. First off that is income redistribution which is straight out of Marx's mouth. Secondly how is it fair to make someone pay more than the next person. Fairness to me is a flat tax based upon CONSUMPTION. We tax production and that is the most backwards thinking way of doing things.
Supply Side Economics, which you espouse above has been tried three times and it has failed three times. We have a $10Trillion National Debt, 92% of which was incurred under Reagan, Bush1 and Bush1.1. With the debt, and the reduction of revenue due to depressed dollar, retiring baby boomers, inflation and rising unemployment, raising taxes is the only solution to many of the problems that exist today.
The $10 Trillion in DEBT is, without a doubt the LARGEST tax increase in the history of this world. And it is due to Supply Side Economics and NeoCon Fiscal Policies. THAT is a tax increase to build Legacies on.
So, when you want to talk about taxes, make sure you talk about ALL the taxes, in all their forms. Cut the obfuscation.
There are many things that I do not like about McCain/Palin but honestly it boils down to the fact of do we take the express train to damnation or the local? I say we take the local. Perhaps at one of the stops we can get the American peoples' collective heads out of their arses.
McCain is too much like Bush to not consider THAT the Express. And we already have evidence that the Bush train "stays the course and does not stop. Look where we are.
