Maybe you are misunderstanding me or Im not expressing myself well enough. Just because you don't like someone is one thing, but if the guy has issues and on top of that is an officer wielding more power than most, maybe the issues should be looked into deeper. Exactly what took place, the investigation will hopefully vet it out. But right now the only blame is being put on Palin without any regard to what her ex-brother in law has done and why he is still employed.
The Palin Family complaint was addressed and the accused was found at fault for some of the accusations, and apparently not found guilty of the others, and he was meted out the punishment the local authorities charged with such duties felt were appropriate. His transgressions were addressed by the rules of how such grievances are supposed to be addressed and the case was closed by the State of Alaska.
The issue with "Troopergate" has little or nothing to actually do with the trooper now. It has to deal with a complaint against the Governor for misusing her office to coerce a State of Alaska employee to take further action against the trooper, and, when that employee refused, she fired the employee. When asked about it, she lied.
Sounds strikingly like a line of questioning about ten years ago - but that was about a blow job that in no way was illegal, just personally embarrassing and painful to then President Bill Clinton. But he was fucking impeached for lying.
In this case Sarah Palin lied about why she fired the specific employee, and, it seems the lie was intended to cover up her hostile work environment and attempted coercion, which equals "abuse of power." Several times, it would seem. Lying is the crime, dude, and we all know what that leads to, right?
So quit the whining about the trooper and the family's accusations against him. This is about Governor Sarah Palin lying.
And, GS, I saw the shithead Tucker Carlson recently get this all wrong. He turned Palin's problem into a discussion of whether or not the trooper was a bad guy and had been punished enough. Not as the show host, but as a guest "pundit" who is really, in the end, a shitbird GOP apologist.
