Your paraphrase is COMPLETELY incorrect. You really might want to read that post again, the key words being changes, balance and impacts.

As for looking at all the companies, they are not similar businesses so the analysis cannot be paralleled nor summed.

Oil is only a commodity in the market. In reality you are correct, it is not.

I think the commodity guys are playing games with oil prices. Getting energy "out of sight, out of mind" would help alleviate some of the negatives for McCain/Bush ties. And it is very easy to do as there are not that many big players. They will take short losses for long term gains of another NeoCon Republican administration.

What a pity we cleaned out our stocks and shares 6 months ago and invested in farmland
Though it could get easier to buy too
So is it back to the 30's?

Mind you I also installed a logwood burning central heating boiler
Which is not now so financially attractive with the falling cost of heating oil

— George W. Bush loved to escape to his ranch in Crawford, Texas, for a break — he spent one sixth of his presidency there. Mr Bush took more time off from the White House than any other US president, spending 1,020 days out of the office, including 490 days at his ranch.
