It should 17 or 18. The problem with the US is that "kids" are growing up too late. In Europe young people are hitting clubs and getting drunk at 16/17 by the time they are 20 they're ready to grow up and settle down. Here they start going out at 21 and don't start acting like adults until at least 25.

I thought you said you were a conservative. Those are the guys that believe in the Constitution. What you suggest is an abomination and rape of that concept.

What about a grandmother who has raised six successful taxpaying children and now "just" collects her social security after her husband has passed away? She doesn't get a vote? What about the student in law school or medical school [they can pass your voter IQ test], no job, no income but of age. NO VOTE? None of the examples pay taxes.

That's true. It was a dumb idea.

I just wish there was some way to prevent people who directly benefit from abuse of the system to be able to vote for that system.

You assume that people that are USING the system are ABUSING the system. Those are two completely different concepts.

There are mechanisms to address ABUSE of the system.
