How does that list establish a pattern of extreme partisanship (that is the topic, is it not?)? Several of the items in your list are little more than personal failings that we were all well aware of before Clinton became president (that whole philanderer and liar thing). What do these personal failings have to do with partisanship? As I said, the only thing Clinton did with the GOP was play ball. The GOP response was to tread the radical (as opposed to conservative) path of impeachment. I honestly don't get the attempt to compare personal failings with deliberate subversions of our government. Does philandering really compare to treason?

Republicans aren't conservatives. They just want the Christian majority to believe they are. Christians make up between 60-75% of the US. If republicans can make them believe that they have moral values then they win. That's why they impeached Clinton on his personal failings. We all know that in reality nobody in Washington has any real moral values.

Now you're gaining on it. The GOP has developed a very effective formula to focus on guns, babies and gOD in order to get folks to vote against their political interests. The Dems really have no counter to this strategy.

Clinton and Bush both had disgraceful administrations. The former, as you note, generally composed of personal and ethical disgraces. The latter, of affairs of state.

The main difference, though, is that Clinton gave us eight years of peace and prosperity. That single fact still outrages republicans, who from all appearances are violently opposed to both.

The only thing I didn't like about Clinton was his shortcomings in his marriage. He also approved partial birth abortion which I am violently against. Yes I mean violent. I would physical tear a doctor away from the baby if he was trying to perform it within my proximity. Other than that, Clinton did alright by me. Bush on the other hand, a huge failure. I voted for him twice though. I would rather have him than Kerry! Could you imagine the price of Ketchup if he got in office! I know big oil has hurt us, but big ketchup would be devastating.

A fair comparison.

While the last line is disarmingly entertaining, the rest of this post strikes horror in my heart.

Clinton's marriage is really none of your business, just like yours is none of mine. If his wife can live with his infidelities, that is her business and her business alone. That you would find judging a man's performance in the position of President of the United States on a private matter he has obviously settled with the only people truly offended by his behavior, his wife and daughter, merely indicates you need to have your busy body nose chopped off.

As for Clinton authorizing partial birth abortions, well, the POTUS doesn't write legislation, and doesn't preside in courts of law, so I fail to see how Clinton, alone, did what you find so distasteful. To just hack that loogie on the table and expect to walk away with a glib line about ketchup and Kerry was asking too much. Jim
