How? Who would move from Obama to a [true] conservative? While the fiscal conservative issues might pull some, the social conservative issues would not, unless those were jettisoned also.

True conservative as opposed to social conservative. One cannot be both, since one flies in the face of the other.

That is true, so it is possible to move to that stance without much concern about social conservatism creeping in.

Social conservatism belongs under a heading of national socialism or social authoritarianism. It is big government and curtailment of liberties, the very antithesis of true conservatism.

Just, for instance, Ron Paul . . . I think that he would have attracted many of those who are currently in anti-McCain/Bush states of mind (as opposed to pro-BO, they're different). I think that the GOP hard liners on here would have fallen in behind him as well, though they called him a flake during the primaries. Were he running, it'd be you, FTL, and Jimsmith . . .

Damn you, sir. Your frigoriffic vellication and cymbocephalic autohagiography creates an acrimonious air of borborygmus and higgledy-piggledy.

Good day, sir.
